Best Comedic Duet (Round 5)

WINNER WINNER!Stephen Sondheim prevails…twice! “A Little Priest” from Sweeney Todd takes First Place in our Best Comedic Duet Bracket Challenge. Jerry Herman’s “Bosom Buddies” from Mame was a worthy challenger, but falls short in the end.

The last time these two giants of the musical theater went head-to-head was at the 1984 Tony Awards. Jerry Herman came out on top with La Cage Aux Folles winning the Best Score and Best Musical Tony Awards over Stephen Sondheim’s Sunday in the Park with George.

Sondheim also took third place honors. “Agony” from Into the Woods bested “Anything You Can Do” from Irving Berlin’s Annie Get Your Gun.
